Sealing Test: Motorcycle Headlight Leakage Testing Solution
August 20, 20251. Why Is Leakage Testing Necessary for Motorcycle Headlights?
During daily riding, motorcycles are frequently exposed to wind, rain, dust, and vibration. As a key safety component, the headlight not only requires excellent illumination performance, but also must ensure long-term protection against water and dust ingress. If sealing is insufficient, problems such as fogging due to water ingress, dust intrusion, or electronic component damage may occur. These issues not only shorten the product’s lifespan but also pose serious safety risks. Therefore, headlight sealing tests are essential!

2. Main Testing Areas of Motorcycle Headlights
In actual testing, the following areas are most prone to sealing issues and require special attention:
- Lens-to-housing joint — check for complete sealing of glue or welding seams;
- Power cable outlet — verify whether the wiring harness seal is airtight;
- Adjustment screw area — ensure no leakage channels around the adjustment mechanism;
- Breather valve — confirm one-way ventilation function to prevent water vapor backflow.
3. Operation Steps with Wafubrother Sealing Tester
In this case, the Wafubrother Sealing Tester was used. The testing mode was sealing test with a set pressure of 15 kPa. Operation steps are as follows:
- Fixture placement: Place the motorcycle headlight into the dedicated fixture, ensuring a tight connection between the test points and the device;
- Parameter setting: Input the test pressure (15 kPa) and test duration on the device interface; typical test duration is 10–15 seconds;
- Start test: Press “Start Test,” the device will automatically inflate and stabilize at the set pressure;
- Result evaluation: If pressure remains stable → PASS; if pressure drops beyond threshold → FAIL, with leakage level indication;
- Data output: Test results can be stored automatically and exported as reports for quality traceability.
